Someone famous once said “Life is a negotiated settlement”.   Everything we do is a series of opportunities to give and to take. Bargaining with the district is no different. I am happy to report that progress is being made, at least with new language to the contract. At the bargaining session on Friday, January 16, tentative agreement was reached with the district on several issues. In Article I agreement was reached on who is in the bargaining unit. This was mostly taking out positions that no longer exist such as behavioral specialists and migrant advocates.
