NEGOTIATIONS Update!!!!!
We met on Oct. 30, 2009 and Sharon presented this document: Negotiations
The previous proposals remain on the table at this point. To refresh our memories, let me review:
a. Step raises for both contracts.
b. 2% across the board increase in compensation.
c. Continuation of all other benefits as currently negotiated (i.e., FRS, insurance, etc).
d. Finalization of "longevity pay" in both contracts for those employees who did not receive their third payment last year.
e. A repayment plan for the draw down of the insurance reserve fund.
f. Agreement to return to the table after the final FTE count in February to negotiate the use of the funds held in reserve for an FTE shortfall.
At the last session, management requested an extension until after the October FTE count. Our understanding is that the count has finalized and the district is roughly 34 FTE's below projections.
We return today to hear the board's counter proposal to our offer from August 11, 2009.
Parts C and F were agreed to by both parties
After meeting Oct. 30th we requested the following information:
October 30, 2009
PFT/U- Caucus Response-
We would like to acknowledge and confirm that both parties have reached agreement on the following items:
1. Revisions of contract language for both the classified and instructional units.
2. Continuation of all benefits as currently negotiated (i.e., FRS, insurance, etc.)
3. A return to the table following the final FTE count in February in order to negotiate the use of the funds held in reserve for an FTE shortfall.
At this point, much has been accomplished, but we have not as yet settled the issue of compensation. The PFT/U team is requesting the following items so that compensation can be examined and revisited:
1. A list of all non-bargaining unit positions that have been created since January 1, 2009.
2. A list of non-bargaining unit positions that have received a salary bonus since January 1, 2009.
3. An itemized print out of the expenditure of all stimulus dollars.
4. An itemized print out of the expenditures of all .25 mill dollars.
5. An updated balance of the unreserved fund dollars.
We are asking that this be made available as soon as possible so that both teams may reconvene on December 1, 2009 for the purpose of resolving this last issue.
We will meet at 4PM on Dec. 1st to continue negotiations.
